Display table done

This was a busy week again. the beginning of the week was full of meetings and material ordering/pick-up. Our HDU came in on Thursday for Loopin' Louie. Woo-Hoo! I spent a whole day prepping cut files in Aspire for more display pieces for the L.A Toy Fair. These are just more display cases and shelving. Some of it we will finish and ship, and some of it we will build here and they'll get finished down there. The email in-box was full of new projects for this show, but sadly, due to deadlines/shop space and man power, we weren't able to take on every single piece. I hate saying no, but it's better than not delivering at all. On Monday we got the silver base coat on the cool display table, and then shoved it into the corner to dry for a couple of days. Wednesday saw the first of several coats of glaze get applied to it.

Due to MDF dust issues, We didn't put the final coats on until today.
I must say, This table is one of my favorite pieces so far. Michael Borthwick, an Art Director, and friend, that we work with on a regular basis designed this piece as a part of a larger display. We were fortunate enough to get to work on it. One of the great things about Michael is he gets material sizes, and quite often will design with that in mind. This piece was no exception.

Heres the finished table, ready to ship on Wednesday. The texured surface worked out quite nice I think. I took a close up of it as the pictures don't really do it justice.
