Always moving ahead!

I quite often spend alot of time on-line searching for products and equipment that will greatly improve the quality and efficiency of our projects. On the weekend I found a neat piece of software that turns 2 photo's, taken at slightly different angles, into a 3 dimensional mesh. The software, 3D PHOTO SCULPT, has a 30 day downloadable, unrestricted, trial version. It comes with a few sample images that I was able to try it with.
The interface is quite simple and easy to understand. You just load the two images and hit the sculpt button.

The mesh came out quite dense at the preset setting, but you are able to decimate it with a mouse click. The best part is the ability to hit the TILE button and create a fully tile-able texture for use in Aspire.
I tiled this four times with the components set to merge. It looks pretty good. I did no smoothing in Aspire, this was a straight import.

Plus, you can save the displacement map, if you want to use it as an image for import as well.
Check out the link below, I think this has some very unique uses in the cnc world for sure!
